Adam Gnezda Čerin transfers from Panathinaikos to Al Wahda
Panathinaikos has officially announced the sale of Slovenian international midfielder Adam Gnezda Čerin to Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates. The transfer deal is valued at approximately 3 million euros, a significant profit for the Greek club which originally acquired the 27-year-old from Nürnberg in 2022 for 450,000 euros.
Čerin leaves Athens after a successful four-year tenure during which he made 171 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 7 assists. His achievements with the club include winning the Greek Cup in 2024 and serving as a team captain.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Čerin is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Abu Dhabi-based club. His reported annual salary is set to increase significantly to approximately 1.3 million euros. This move marks the first time in his professional career that the midfielder will play outside of Europe.
