Panathinaikos aims to tighten play after 1‑1 draw with TSSK 1948

Panathinaikos drew 1‑1 with TSSK 1948 at the OAKA, a result that highlighted defensive lapses and a lack of balance in critical zones. Coach Jekob Nistrup said the team was “too open when the ball was lost” and stressed the need for shorter distances between lines, tighter coverage and more composure in and around the penalty area.

Nistrup also noted that the side created good chances in the first half but failed to finish them, leaving the squad frustrated. Ahead of the upcoming play‑off in Sofia, he called for greater intensity in front of goal and better phase creation. A parallel commentary urged the club to rely less on constant transfer activity and to trust the existing roster, citing players such as Sokratis Kountouris and Etien Kamara as key contributors who need time to develop within the team’s system.
