Panathinaikos appoints Sotiris Pantaleon to board of directors
Greek football club Panathinaikos announced that longtime amateur player and director of the club’s athletic departments, Sotiris Pantaleon, has been appointed to the board of directors of the professional football entity (PAE). He will replace Giannis Panagiotidis, who is stepping down from the board and his role as vice‑president.
The appointment is an independent administrative decision and does not affect the statutory representation of the amateur side, which remains with Mr. Vranopoulos as required by law. Pantaleon, who has served as director of the competitive sections since May 2021, will now hold a parallel position in both the amateur and professional branches of the club. The change is expected to be formally ratified in the near term.
