Panathinaikos completes signing of Elmin Rastonder on four‑year deal
Greek Super League club Panathinaikos has finalized the transfer of 24‑year‑old forward Elmin Rastonder from Swiss champions FC Thun. The deal, reported to be worth around €3.5‑4 million including bonuses, includes a four‑year contract with an annual salary of roughly €1.2‑1.4 million.
Rastonder, who recorded 15 goals and six assists in 37 league matches for Thun last season and has nine caps for the North Macedonia national team, is expected to strengthen Panathinaikos’ attacking line under coach Jesper Nødtvedt. Negotiations had been advanced for weeks, with clubs such as Hamburg and Glentbrough previously linked, but the Greek side secured the player after reducing the initial asking price.
The forward is slated to sign his contract on Monday, 29 June 2024, and will travel to the team’s pre‑season camp in the Netherlands the following day. The signing marks Panathinaikos’ fifth summer acquisition as the club prepares for the upcoming domestic campaign and European qualifiers.
