Panathinaikos coach Nistrup praises 4‑0 friendly win and training progress
Panathinaikos defeated Helmond Sport 4‑0 in a pre‑season friendly in the Netherlands. Coach Jesper Nistrup said the team performed well in the first and last 20 minutes, highlighted the importance of static set‑pieces, and expressed satisfaction with the squad’s development. He noted that the early phases of play showed “very good” ball movement and pressing, while the middle period saw occasional lapses.
Nistrup also spoke about the club’s transfer activity, confirming his approval of recent signings such as Inaki, Tsapras, Debri and the 19‑year‑old Aiden Sechu. He stressed that integrating new players will take several weeks and that the coaching staff will continue refining tactics, especially against high‑pressing opponents. The training session featured drills on ball rotation in tight spaces, pressing, and set‑piece routines, aiming to prepare the team for the upcoming season.
