Panathinaikos denies Davide Calabria transfer rumors to Torino

Panathinaikos has denied Italian media reports suggesting that defender Davide Calabria is close to a move to Serie A side Torino. The rumors, which cited journalist Orazio Accomando and ‘Sport Mediaset’, claimed the former Milan player was ‘one step away from Torino’, but the club has clarified there is no truth to these claims.

Calabria is currently focused on returning to competitive action following a five-and-a-half-week absence due to a meniscus injury. He has rejoined training under coach Jakob Nielsen and is expected to be available for the upcoming Conference League playoff second-leg match against Czech side Hradec Kralove on August 27. While he is unlikely to start due to his recent time away from training, he is expected to be available as an option from the bench.
