Panathinaikos eyes left‑back Vasilis Zagaris and other targets
Panathinaikos is seeking a new left‑back after Filip Mladenović departed in January and the recent signing of Havi Ernaneth proved ineffective. Coach Giakoumb Nistrup and the club’s management have identified 25‑year‑old defender Vasilis Zagaris, currently owned by Chernihiv, as a primary candidate. Negotiations on the transfer fee are ongoing, and the club must reach an agreement with Chernihiv before finalising the move.
Nistrup has also highlighted another option, defender Triantafyllos Tsapra, who has been on Panathinaikos’ shortlist since last season. Tsapra remains at Livadeia, but the club now has clearance to proceed with his possible transfer. The final decision will consider factors such as cost, ease of the deal, and the coach’s tactical plan for the left side of the defense.
