Panathinaikos faces injury crisis ahead of EuroLeague matches

Panathinaikos faces significant roster challenges ahead of a critical EuroLeague double-header due to a series of injuries. Spanish power forward Juancho Hernangómez is expected to miss approximately ten days after suffering a muscle spasm in his right adductor during a SuperCup semifinal match.

Hernangómez’s absence will likely sideline him for upcoming home games against ASVEL on September 30 and Maccabi Tel Aviv on October 2. His injury adds to an existing list of unavailable players, which includes Kostas Slukas, Kendrick Nunn, Najdjel Hayes-Davis, and Mustafa Fall.

Head coach Željko Obradović noted that while the team’s psychology remains positive, the injury situation is difficult given the dense schedule. The coaching staff is monitoring the players' recovery daily to ensure they are 100% ready before returning to competition.
