Panathinaikos finalises Jacob Nystrup coaching deal

Greek champions Panathinaikos is in the final stage of appointing Danish coach Jacob Nystrup. The contract is set for 2+1 years with a total remuneration exceeding €1.2 million, including performance‑related bonuses for titles and objectives.

Negotiations have also defined the supporting staff: Stefán Mansen, the Danish coach’s longtime aide, will join him alongside a fitness trainer and an analyst. The club’s goalkeeper‑coach position remains open, with George Moundakis under consideration and an external candidate also being evaluated.

Nystrup is scheduled to travel to Athens immediately after the agreement is formally signed, expected on Tuesday 26 May. He will coordinate with sporting director Stefano Kotzoli on roster planning and has been briefed on the club’s preparation centre in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, as well as initial transfer targets.
