Panathinaikos frees over €4.5 million and eyes Danish defender Victor Kristiansen

Greek club Panathinaikos is reshaping its roster ahead of the new season, terminating several contracts and ending loan spells to create financial flexibility. The departures of Filip Juricic (≈ €1.1 m), Alban Lafon (≈ €1 m), Renato Santos (≈ €1 m), Filip Mladenovic (≈ €0.5 m), Giannis Kotsiras (≈ €0.4 m), Havi Ernaneth (≈ €0.4 m) and Enis Tschokai generate savings of more than €4.5 million, easing the club’s wage burden and supporting compliance with Financial Fair Play rules.

In the same rebuilding phase, Panathinaikos is targeting a left‑back to strengthen its defence. The Danish international Victor Kristiansen, who has played in Denmark, Serie A with Bologna and most recently at Leicester City, is being monitored closely. The club will assess his medical history after a serious knee injury last season and evaluate whether his transfer fee and salary fit the new budget.
