Panathinaikos appoints Stelios Tzoutzis as U.S. Scouting Director
Panathinaikos AKTOR has officially announced the appointment of Stelios Tzoutzis as the Director of U.S. Scouting & Player Development. In this role, Tzoutzis will focus on monitoring and evaluating the United States market to strengthen the club’s international presence and strategic operations within the American basketball landscape.
Tzoutzis brings extensive experience from the American collegiate basketball system (NCAA). He has held positions at notable programs including Wake Forest, Liberty University, and the University of Virginia. Notably, he is the only Greek coach to have won an NCAA championship, having served on the coaching staff at Virginia during their 2019 title run under head coach Tony Bennett.
Originally from Athens, Tzoutzis began his basketball career in Greece with A.O. Triton before moving to the United States in 2004 to pursue both athletic and academic goals. His new position is intended to serve as a bridge between the Greek club and the U.S. market, specifically targeting the identification and development of young talent from the NCAA.
