Panathinaikos interested in Beşiktaş midfielder Al-Musrati

Panathinaikos is reportedly interested in signing 30-year-old Libyan midfielder Moatassem Al-Musrati. The player, currently under contract with Beşiktaş until June 2027, is no longer in the Turkish club's plans. Beşiktaş is reportedly seeking to offload him to reduce wage costs and free up a foreign player slot, potentially even making him available for free.

Al-Musrati has an extensive European career, having played for Vitória Guimarães, Rio Ave, and Braga, where he won the Portuguese Cup and League Cup. He most recently spent time on loan at Hellas Verona in Italy, making 18 appearances. Standing at 1.89 meters, he primarily plays as a defensive midfielder.

Competition for the player exists, as reports suggest a club from Qatar is also interested in his services. Panathinaikos is expected to prioritize midfield reinforcements following their upcoming Conference League play-off matches.
