Panathinaikos Plans Major Squad Overhaul and Targets Romanian Keeper Tarnovanu
Greek club Panathinaikos has entered an intensive planning phase for the upcoming season under new coach Giakoump Nistrup. The coaching staff is weighing significant roster changes, including potential departures of players such as Davide Calabrìa and evaluating the fit of first‑team members like Taso Bakasetas against the new tactical model focused on speed, intensity and quick ball recovery.
In parallel, Panathinaikos is pursuing a transfer for Romanian international goalkeeper Stefan Tarnovanu. The 26‑year‑old, standing 1.97 m, currently plays for Steaua Bucharest and is under contract there until 2028. His market value is estimated at €3.8 million. The club is reportedly ready to meet Steaua’s demands to secure Tarnovanu ahead of its second qualifying round in the Conference League.
