Panathinaikos pre‑season under new coach Jacob Nistrop looks promising

Greek side Panathinaikos, now coached by Danish manager Jacob Nistrop, has begun its 2024‑25 preparations with a series of positive pre‑season performances. The team won all three friendly matches – 4‑0 against Helmond Sport, 3‑1 versus Ajax and 3‑0 over Grasshopper – scoring ten goals and conceding only one. Scorers included Antino, Tamborda, Tette, Zaruari, and Giakousits, with Giakousits also netting the club’s first unofficial goal.

In parallel, Nistrop has overseen six signings to strengthen the squad: midfielder Etien Kamara (France), right‑back Triantafyllos Tsapras (Greece), goalkeeper Inaki Pena (Spain), forward Elmin Rostonter (North Macedonia), centre‑back Stefan De Frai (Netherlands) and left‑back Viktor Kristiansen (Denmark). The club is now preparing for its Conference League qualifiers against Hungarian side Paks, having already scheduled a training match in Vienna ahead of the official tie.
