Panathinaikos President Giannakopoulos Responds to Fan Comments on Budget and Player Departures

Panathinaikos president Dimitris Giannakopoulos replied to a fan’s Instagram comment concerning the recent exits of players Osman and Vasilis Toliopoulos. He explained that the club could not sustain a €63 million budget and decided to trim the plan to €60 million, which also meant forgoing the acquisition of an "ace" player.

Giannakopoulos added that the departures were linked to the club’s financial situation and noted that only athletes whose primary goal is to compete for Panathinaikos belong on the roster. He referenced the return of coach Zeljko Obradović and highlighted recent signings such as Gerson Yambusele, emphasizing a new era of focus and commitment for the Greek side.
