Panathinaikos reaches deal with Danish coach Jesper Næstrup

Greek football club Panathinaikos has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with 38‑year‑old Danish manager Jesper Næstrup. Næstrup, who previously guided Copenhagen to two Danish league titles, two cups and Champions League appearances, is set to take charge after the club’s recent split with Rafa Benítez. Both parties expect to sign and announce a formal contract over the weekend. The club plans to use the new coach to restart its title push and shape upcoming transfer activity.

The agreement is described as a "oral" deal pending the exchange of contracts, and Panathinaikos officials have been working intensively in recent days to finalise the appointment and related player transactions.
