Panathinaikos registers Garcia and Deser for CSKA 1948 Conference League tie

Panathinaikos announced that the Nigerian striker Siril Deser and the 28‑year‑old forward Libai Garcia have been added to List A of its UEFA Conference League squad for the third‑qualifying‑round matches against Bulgarian side CSKA 1948. The deadline for the European list was 23:59 on Tuesday, and the club moved quickly to register both players. Deser was included as a replacement for the unavailable forward Andria Tetteh, who is sidelined with infectious mononucleosis.

List A now comprises 24 players, including Garcia, Deser and the regular starters, while List B contains three additional squad members. The first leg will be played in Athens at the Olympic Stadium “Spyridon Louis”.

CSKA 1948, the Bulgarian vice‑champions, travel to Athens confident after recent domestic form and a penalty‑shootout win over Spartak Turnav in the previous round. Coach Alexander Alexandrov stressed that his side will play aggressively and aims to surprise the Greek “greens”, who are considered favourites. The outcome will determine the opponent for the next round’s play‑off stage.
