Panathinaikos loses 4-1 to Rapid Wien in Vienna friendly

Greek side Panathinaikos were beaten 4-1 by Austrian club Rapid Wien in a 120‑minute friendly at Vienna's Allianz Stadion. Rapid opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Tilio, doubled the lead before half‑time with Andresen, and added a third via Haindl before the break. A fourth goal came from a corner by Saoub early in the second half.

Panathinaikos managed a consolation strike in extra time when Pantelidis finished from a Teleti assist, making the final score 4-1. The match highlighted serious defensive frailties, prompting coach Giakob Nistrup to consider lineup changes. Icelandic defender Ingason suffered a knee injury and was forced to leave the field, raising concerns ahead of the team's upcoming Conference League qualifiers against Paksi.

The club will need to address the defensive lapses and the loss of Ingason before their competitive matches begin.
