Panathinaikos signs North Macedonian striker Elmin Rastonder for €4 million

Greek Super League club Panathinaikos has completed a transfer for 24‑year‑old forward Elmin Rastonder, reaching a final agreement with Swiss champions FC Thun. The striker is set to sign a four‑year contract on Monday, 29 June, and will travel to the Netherlands the following day to join pre‑season preparations. The deal is valued at €4 million, far above the €200 000 price tag estimated in December 2024, and includes a resale percentage for Thun.

Rastonder, a North Macedonian international, scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 34 league matches this season for Thun. He was a key player in the Swiss club’s championship run. Negotiations were handled by Panathinaikos director Stefanos Kotsolis, who secured the transfer despite earlier difficulties. The move adds a prolific, young attacker to Panathinaikos’s frontline as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.
