Panathinaikos signs Swiss striker Elmin Rastonder ahead of new season

Panathinaikos announced the signing of 24‑year‑old Swiss forward Elmin Rastonder on 29 June, the club's sixth summer acquisition. Rastonder, a former champion with FC Thun where he scored 16 league goals, signed a four‑year deal and will join coach Stefanos Kotzolis in the Netherlands for pre‑season training.

He completed his first training session with the squad in Apeldoorn and said, “The first thing I did when I learned about Panathinaikos was to tell my grandfather. He is a fan of the club and his words inspired me.” Rastonder described himself as a "target man" who will add a different dimension to the team's attacking trio alongside Tevteris and Deser. He expressed a personal goal of helping the Greek side win its first championship in 16 years.

Rastonder’s arrival is seen as a boost to Panathinaikos' offensive options as the club prepares for the upcoming domestic campaign.
