Panathinaikos starts U19 preseason camp while scouting central defender

Panathinaikos' U19 (K19) team commenced its preseason preparation for the upcoming season, holding a training camp in Chania, Pelion from July 22 to 31. The squad, overseen by head coach Angelos Zazopoulos—who led the previous U17 side to a championship—and his staff including assistant Giorgos Tsintaris, is focused on daily development and smoothing the transition to the senior team.

At the same time, the club's senior side is intensifying its search for a new central defender after the injury to Sv­erriu Ingason. Targets mentioned include Icelandic defender Ric Fann Drongelen and other options, while the technical staff also considers adding a central midfielder and an extra wide midfielder to broaden tactical choices. The administration aims to complete player departures by the end of August.
