Panathinaikos suspends bid for Danish left‑back Victor Kristiansen

Greek Super League club Panathinaikos had been negotiating a one‑year loan with an option to buy for Danish left‑back Victor Kristiansen, then on the books of England's Leicester City. The proposed deal was meant to back up defender Georgios Kyriakopoulos on the left side of the defence.

Leicester City adopted a stricter stance, refusing a loan arrangement and demanding a permanent transfer worth roughly €5‑6 million. Coupled with Kristiansen’s recent injury record, Panathinaikos deemed the risk too high. The Greek side has therefore placed the Kristiansen move on hold and is now looking at alternative options, including fellow left‑back Vasilis Zagaris, who performed well for Charfen.

The club’s management indicated that any future move will require a precise financial formula and a clear assessment of the player’s fitness before committing.
