Panathinaikos AKTOR signs French NBA veteran Gerard Jambusele

Greek basketball club Panathinaikos AKTOR announced the signing of French forward/center Gerard Jambusele on a three‑year contract worth a total of €12 million, roughly €4 million per season. The 2.01 m, 1995‑born player, who last played in the NBA for teams including the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls, brings extensive EuroLeague experience from stints with ASVEL, Real Madrid and other clubs.

The deal makes Jambusele one of the highest‑paid players in Europe and bolsters the club’s frontcourt alongside fellow Frenchmen Matias Lesor and Mustafa Fal. The signing follows recent acquisitions of Branko Banti and Isaac Bonga, while the team also saw departures of players such as Ti‑Jay Short, Marius Grigkounis, Kenneth Farind and Alexandros Samontourov.

Panathinaikos expects Jambusele’s strength, shooting ability and defensive presence to improve its roster depth and competitiveness in both the Greek league and EuroLeague competitions.
