Panathinaikos to honor founding Thyra 13 members

Panathinaikos FC has announced an initiative to honor the memory of two founding members of the Thyra 13 supporters' group, Giorgos Koskoros and Dimitris Sarandakos.

On November 27, 1966, during the club's first organized away trip to Veria, a bus carrying fans collided with a guardrail near Katerini. The accident resulted in the deaths of both Koskoros and Sarandakos.

Following a decision by club owner Giannis Alafouzos, the football club is actively searching for the families of the deceased to provide them with season tickets as a symbolic tribute. The gesture is part of the club's commemorative actions during its final competitive period before transitioning to its new stadium in Botanikos.
