Panathinaikos secures Victor Kristiansen on loan with purchase option

Greek side Panathinaikos announced the acquisition of 23‑year‑old Danish left‑back Victor Kristiansen on a one‑year loan from English club Leicester City. The player passed a comprehensive medical examination in Italy and will undergo further checks in Athens before finalising the deal.

The agreement includes a loan fee of roughly €500,000 and an option to buy for about €4 million, which becomes mandatory if Kristiansen features for at least 45 minutes in 50 % of the team’s official matches. Earlier reports had suggested Ricardo Mangas as a backup target, but the Greek club proceeded with Kristiansen after the medicals confirmed his fitness.

Kristiansen, a product of the Copenhagen academy, has experience in the Premier League, Serie A and the Danish national team. The move is expected to strengthen Panathinaikos’ left‑back position ahead of the new season.
