Panathinaikos trains in the Netherlands and plans striker Desser's return

Greek club Panathinaikos is holding a pre‑season camp in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, to prepare for the upcoming Conference League qualifying round. The squad has endured intense morning sessions in high temperatures under coach Ishak Nistra, followed by a relaxed barbecue in the afternoon that was filmed for a player‑run vlog.

The team’s schedule includes friendlies against Helmond Sport (1 July), Ajax (4 July), Grasshopper Club Zürich (11 July) and Rapid Wien (15 July). At the same time, the club is managing the rehabilitation of forward Cyril Desser, who has been sidelined by knee and tendon injuries. Desser follows a personalized gym and low‑intensity ball program supervised by medical and technical staff, with a target to re‑join full training by late August if progress remains steady.

Panathinaikos emphasizes a cautious approach, preferring a complete recovery over a rushed return as they aim to enter the new season in optimal condition.
