Panathinaikos trims squad, five players exit as new season approaches

Greek Super League club Panathinaikos has begun a roster overhaul ahead of the upcoming campaign. The club confirmed that five players will leave: right‑back Giannis Kotsiras, forward Filip Juricic, loan‑returned goalkeeper Alban Lafond, midfielder Renato Sanchez and left‑back Xavi Ernandez, all of whom were thanked for their contributions.

Coach Giacob Nistrup aims to reduce the squad size to match his tactical philosophy and has already started talks with potential signings. Targets include a new goalkeeper, two full‑backs, a central midfielder, a winger and possibly an additional striker, with the club expecting further departures in the coming weeks as it reshapes the team for the new season.
