Panda! Go, Panda! launches 55th-anniversary project

TMS Entertainment has announced a 55th-anniversary project for the animated films ‘Panda! Go, Panda!’ and its sequel, ‘Panda! Go, Panda! Rain Circus.’ The celebration will run from October 1, 2026, through 2028.

Originally released in 1972, the films were created by the duo of Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki. The project includes the unveiling of an official 55th-anniversary logo featuring characters Mimiko, Pan-chan, and Papa Panda.

Key activities include a ‘Panda! Go, Panda! Book Circus’ pop-up event at four Maruzen Junku Do Shoten locations across Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Sapporo. These events will feature original merchandise and collaboration menus, such as panda-themed curry.

A collaboration with Lawson will also take place, offering limited-edition merchandise in book sections nationwide and stickers via Lawson Print services. The first wave of commemorative goods, including plush mascots and decorative stickers, is scheduled for release next month.
