Pandapé data highlights hidden costs of unfilled job vacancies
Data from Pandapé reveals the hidden operational costs associated with unfilled job vacancies in Brazil. While HR departments often track the ‘time to hire’ metric, vacant positions can lead to significant indirect expenses, including increased overtime, lost productivity, and underutilized capacity.
According to the survey, 50% of Brazilian organizations take between 16 and 30 days to fill a position, while 19% require between 31 and 45 days. Thomas Costa, Growth Director at Redarbor Brasil (the owner of Pandapé), emphasizes that the impact varies by sector. For instance, a vacancy in sales can result in lost revenue, a lack of a pharmacist can force a pharmacy to close, and technical vacancies can delay product deliveries.
