Panera Bread launches nationwide MyPanera 2.0 loyalty program
Panera Bread has launched a nationwide overhaul of its loyalty program, rebranded as MyPanera 2.0. The new system transitions from a “surprise-and-delight” model to a structured, points-based architecture featuring three distinct reward tiers.
Under the new system, customers earn 10 points for every dollar spent. These points can be redeemed for various items, ranging from bakery products at 250 points to full entrees at 2,000 points. Existing members from the previous program, which included up to 70 million people, will be automatically enrolled in the new structure.
The loyalty update is a component of the company’s broader “RISE” turnaround strategy led by CEO Paul Carbone. This initiative focuses on menu adjustments, improved customer service, and unit growth. As part of this restructuring, Panera is also relocating its headquarters from St. Louis to the Boston area.
