Panerai launches ultra‑light Luminor Marina with Carbotech case

Panerai has introduced the Luminor Marina PAM01707, a 44 mm luxury dive watch priced at £13,100. The model retains the classic Luminor design – square case, crown‑guard bridge and matte black sandwich dial – but its case is built from Carbotech, a proprietary carbon‑fibre composite developed by the brand. Panerai says Carbotech is about 64 % lighter than titanium and up to 80 % lighter than steel, resulting in a 100‑gram watch that remains highly corrosion‑resistant and robust for underwater use.

The dial lacks a date window, features beige numerals and Super‑LumiNova markers that glow green in the dark, and includes a small‑seconds display at nine o’clock. Power is supplied by the in‑house P. 9010 automatic calibre with 31 jewels, a three‑day power reserve and a quick‑change time‑setting mechanism. The new Luminor Marina combines historic styling cues from 1960s military models with Panerai’s most advanced material to offer a lightweight yet durable timepiece.
