Panevėžys appoints Giedrė Kurlinskaitė as UK ambassador

Giedrė Kurlinskaitė has been appointed as the twelfth ambassador for the ‘Global Panevėžys’ project in the United Kingdom. A resident of the UK for nearly thirteen years, Kurlinskaitė serves as the chairperson of the London Lithuanian community branch and is the founder and head of the ‘Pupa’ Lithuanian language school, which serves over 250 children across five branches.

As an ambassador, Kurlinskaitė aims to strengthen ties between the city of Panevėžys and the Lithuanian diaspora living in the UK. Her work focuses on preserving the Lithuanian language and culture, as well as fostering connections between emigrant children and their homeland. Panevėžys Mayor Loreta Masiliūnienė noted that Kurlinskaitė’s experience will help the city better reach its citizens abroad and develop joint educational and cultural initiatives.
