Panevėžys hosts city anniversary and harvest festival celebrations

Panevėžys is hosting several cultural and celebratory events from September 11 to 13. To mark the 523rd anniversary of the city, local authorities have announced temporary changes to public transport routes and the provision of free shuttle buses following major concerts on Friday and Saturday nights.

Additionally, the 29th Panevėžys District Harvest Festival will take place on September 12 at the narrow-gauge railway depot yard. This year’s celebration features an interwar-era market reconstruction, where actors and local groups will recreate historical trading scenes, including traditional bargaining and folk music performances. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the immersive market atmosphere and can purchase goods produced by local farmers and creators.
