Panevėžys opens Narrow Gauge Railway Museum and street art installation

On August 28, the Aukštaitija Narrow Gauge Railway organization held the opening ceremony for the newly established Narrow Gauge Museum and a unique street art piece titled ‘Narrow Gauge Train Station’ in Panevėžys.

The event was attended by several officials, including Lithuania's Minister of Transport Juras Taminskas, Panevėžys Mayor Loreta Masiliūnienė, and various regional representatives. Minister Taminskas highlighted the museum's importance in preserving the region's historical memory and promoting tourism in the Aukštaitija region.

In addition to the museum space, visitors were introduced to a new street art installation by artist Tadas Šimkus, which provides an original depiction of the Panevėžys narrow-gauge railway station.
