Panhellenic Medical Association sets election dates for January 2027

The Panhellenic Medical Association (PIS) has announced that elections for its new Board of Directors will take place on January 24, 2027. A General Assembly is scheduled for the preceding day, January 23.

Following a meeting on October 11, 2026, involving 34 regional medical association presidents, the Provisional Governing Committee emphasized the need for financial transparency to prevent legal objections during the electoral process. The committee also addressed several key medical sector issues, including the implementation of Medwatch, a new digital system, the financial settlement of medical associations, and the intensification of inspections for private medical practices.

There have been internal tensions regarding the logistics of the assembly, with previous announcements from the elected president suggesting that venue and accommodation arrangements for regional electors had not been secured. The Provisional Committee aims to ensure all financial obligations are clear to avoid delays or requests for extensions from the Ministry of Health.
