Pankaj Advani wins 29th career world title in billiards comeback

Indian cue sports legend Pankaj Advani secured his 29th career world title by winning the WBL World Billiards Championship in Birmingham, England. In a grueling five-hour final, the 41-year-old overcame a significant deficit to defeat England's Robert Hall with a score of 1906-1206.

Advani faced a daunting challenge when Hall compiled a 331 break, extending his lead to over 300 points. With approximately 115 minutes remaining and trailing 697-1014, Advani staged a massive comeback, beginning with a 210 break and culminating in a tournament-high 587 break. This extraordinary performance turned the match decisively in his favor.

This victory marks Advani's first World Billiards Championship title since 2014. He reached the final after defeating nine-time world champion David Causier in the semifinals and compatriot Sourav Kothari in the quarterfinals. Advani remains the only cueist to have won world titles across all formats of billiards and snooker.
