Pankaj Awana booked for allegedly filming inside Noida government school

An FIR has been registered against Pankaj Awana, the Uttar Pradesh president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Youth Wing, for allegedly entering a government school in Noida’s Sector-51 without permission. The complaint, filed by school staff at the Sector-49 Police Station, alleges that Awana recorded video of the school’s operations without authorization.

The case was registered on August 20 under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 333, 351(2), 352, and 3(5).

AAP leaders, including MP Sanjay Singh, have characterized the legal action as an attempt to silence political opposition. Singh alleged that the FIR was filed because Awana was highlighting the “dismal condition” of government schools in the region. Awana stated that the action was intended to prevent him from exposing the state of public education and maintained that he would continue to raise public issues.
