Panna diamond mine discovery: Couple finds four diamonds worth Rs 12 lakh

A couple from Jhansi, Guddi Devi and Rajkumar Shrivas, discovered four diamonds while working in a private mine in the Sarkoha area of Panna district, Madhya Pradesh. The discovery comes after approximately six months of continuous labor in the diamond-bearing zone.

The four diamonds have a combined weight of 5.16 carats. The stones include two high-quality diamonds weighing 1.62 and 1.29 carats, and two medium-quality diamonds weighing 1.44 and 0.81 carats. Local officials and diamond valuers estimate the collective market value of the find to be approximately Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.

Following official regulations, the couple has deposited the diamonds with the Panna Diamond Office. The stones will be included in an upcoming government auction. Once the auction is complete, the proceeds will be distributed to the leaseholders after the deduction of government royalties and applicable taxes. The couple expressed intentions to use the funds for their children's education and to expand their business.
