Pantanal tourism spotlighted at FIT Pantanal 2026 as Lucas do Rio Verde showcases creative economy

Lucas do Rio Verde will take part in the International Tourism Fair of the Pantanal (FIT Pantanal 2026) in Cuiabá from June 3‑7. The municipality’s stand, prepared by its cultural, tourism and economic development agencies, will feature a dedicated creative‑economy zone highlighting local artisans, handcrafted products and signature dishes such as mandioca churros and pulled lamb. The participation aims to boost the city’s visibility, support small businesses and link regional identity with new market opportunities.

The fair occurs amid a rapid expansion of Pantanal ecotourism. In 2025 Brazil recorded a 37 % rise in foreign arrivals compared with 2024, ending the year with a record 9.2 million international visitors, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The Pantanal attracted a large share of these tourists, drawn by wildlife‑watching activities like caiman spotting, the region’s UNESCO World Heritage status and growing coverage in international travel media. Infrastructure such as the MS‑184 road and numerous wooden bridges supports access during seasonal floods, while towns like Bonito continue to expand accommodation and culinary offerings.
