Panteion University to receive €5 million for new administration building

The Greek Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Sofia Zacharaki, has announced a funding opportunity of up to €5 million for Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. This allocation is intended for the acquisition of a new building to house the university's administration, seminar rooms, postgraduate courses, and laboratories.

The funding is part of the Ministry's 2026–2030 Sectoral Development Program and can also cover necessary studies, renovations, and functional adaptations of the property. This initiative follows other planned upgrades for the university, including €900,000 for maintenance and repairs in 2026, €260,000 for fire protection works, and a major project exceeding €13 million to construct the institution's first student dormitory.

In a separate discussion regarding educational infrastructure and student protests, Minister Zacharaki emphasized that while the ministry listens to the demands of students and educators, school occupations are not a solution. She noted that the ministry is committed to addressing long-standing issues regarding school buildings and student welfare through systematic interventions.
