Pantheon's massive bronze doors reflect ancient Roman authority

The Pantheon in Rome, rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian around 115–128 AD, features massive bronze doors that remain in use nearly 2,000 years later. These doors stand between approximately 7.5 and 12.5 meters tall and weigh about 60 tons.

Historical and architectural perspectives suggest the immense scale of these entrances served several purposes: to project the authority and divinity of the emperor, to instill awe in visitors, and to accommodate large crowds or significant ceremonial entries.
