Pantil Nuamjoem warns of cover-up in Senate election fraud case
Pantil Nuamjoem, a Bangkok MP from the People's Party, has raised concerns regarding potential corruption in the Senate election process. He warned that the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) might only prosecute eight individuals based on Department of Special Investigation (DSI) files, rather than investigating the entire network of organizers.
Mr. Pantil emphasized the need to identify the true decision-makers behind the alleged scheme, citing evidence of money trails, voting lists, and political influence. He noted that the current investigation may fail to uncover the masterminds who planned the system, including those who managed candidates and financial transfers.
Upcoming discussions are scheduled for August 28 and 29 to address these issues. The August 28 seminar will be hosted by the House of Representatives Committee on Courts, Independent Organizations, Prosecutors, State Enterprises, Public Organizations, and Funds, featuring prominent figures such as Abhisit Vejjajiva and Borwornsak Uwanno.
