Pantside fire investigation: Woman released on conditional bail

A 29-year-old woman from the Newbridge area has been released on conditional bail following an investigation into a fire in Pantside. The blaze occurred on August 12 at a property on Hazelwood Road, involving five terraced bungalows.

The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that while the fire caused significant damage to residential properties, there were no reported casualties. The incident necessitated the evacuation of 32 properties.

The woman was arrested on August 13 on suspicion of arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered. Gwent Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and clarified that the incident is not linked to other ongoing wildfires in the country.
