PAOK aims to join EuroLeague by 2027 season

PAOK owner Telis Mistakidis is pursuing a move to join the EuroLeague starting with the 2027-28 season. During the EuroLeague Supercup in Abu Dhabi, Mistakidis held meetings with Euroleague Basketball CEO Chus Bueno and other key shareholders to present a formal long-term proposal.

The ambitious plan includes the construction of a brand-new arena to meet the competition's infrastructure requirements. If successful, PAOK would become the third Greek franchise in the EuroLeague, joining Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.

While no official agreement has been signed, reports indicate the reception of the proposal has been highly positive. In the interim, PAOK is set to compete in the BKT EuroCup for the 2026-27 season.
