Panathinaikos and PAOK to face off in Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament final

Panathinaikos AKTOR and PAOK will face each other in the final of the 8th Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament at the Telekom Center Athens. Panathinaikos secured their place in the final after a dominant 90-69 victory over JL Bourg, led by 18 points from Sylvain Francisco and 15 from Mathias Lessort.

PAOK advanced to the final following a dramatic 100-99 win against Partizan, decided by a buzzer-beater three-pointer from Marcus Foster. Jedidiah Osman contributed 27 points in the victory. The tournament, which honors the memory of the late Panathinaikos leader Pavlos Giannakopoulos, also features the return of Zeljko Obradovic to the Telekom Center as Panathinaikos coach.

The upcoming final serves as a preview for the Greek Super Cup semifinals scheduled for late September. Both teams face significant absences: Panathinaikos will be without Kostas Sloukas, Kendrick Nunn, and Nigel Hayes-Davis, while PAOK will miss Bryon Allen and Requan Clevin.
