PAOK parts ways with Razvan Loucsekou, names Alessio Lisi as new head coach

On 19 June, PAOK announced the mutual termination of Razvan Loucsekou’s contract after five years in charge. During his two spells the Romanian led the club to two Super League titles (2018‑19, 2023‑24) and two Greek Cups, and guided PAOK to two UEFA Conference League semi‑finals. Although he still had one year left on his deal, the club and Loucsekou agreed to end the partnership, with the coach reportedly considering offers from Saudi clubs. Owner Ivan Savvidis approved the decision.

The search for a successor initially highlighted Dutch‑born Marno Pusic, but the club ultimately appointed 40‑year‑old Italian Alessio Lisi, who grew up coaching in Spain. Lisi’s résumé includes work with Levante’s academy, a spell at Mirandés where he achieved promotion, and recent experience at Osasuna in La Liga. He is set to take over as PAOK’s head coach for the upcoming season, becoming the first Italian to lead the Greek giants.

Club statements emphasized the “mutual consent” nature of the split and expressed gratitude for Loucsekou’s contributions, while welcoming Lisi’s “vision and experience” to drive the team forward.
