PAOK midfielder Souali Meite scheduled for surgery, out 2‑3 months
French midfielder Souali Meite, who plays for Greek club PAOK, has been unable to train since the start of pre‑season because of a lingering injury sustained in the previous season’s final. After two weeks of intensive conservative treatment and a follow‑up MRI that showed worsening of the condition, the club’s medical staff decided that surgery is the only viable option.
The operation is expected to take place within the next 24‑48 hours, after which Meite will begin a rehabilitation programme. The club estimates a recovery period of two to three months, meaning he will miss the opening fixtures of the new season. PAOK has publicly supported the decision and will manage his absence while he undergoes treatment and rehab.
