PAOK Thessaloniki signs Kristijan Jakic on loan from FC Augsburg
PAOK Thessaloniki has officially completed the loan signing of Croatian midfielder Kristijan Jakic from German Bundesliga club FC Augsburg. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder arrives on a one-year loan deal with a non-obligatory purchase option reported to be between €4 million and €4.5 million. The loan fee is approximately €500,000.
Jakic, a former World Cup participant, expressed his desire for more playing time, a move supported by Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber. Jakic joins former Augsburg player Dimitris Giannoulis at the Greek club. In addition to Jakic, PAOK has also strengthened its defense with the arrival of Brazilian defender Diego Costa on a loan from Krasnodar, which includes a €7.5 million purchase option.
As the Greek transfer window remains open until September 15, PAOK continues to seek further reinforcements, specifically targeting a central striker—with Millwall's Milos Ivanovics being a primary candidate—and a right-back to provide depth in the squad.
