PAOK transfer of Rúben Sánchez stalls after European exit

The potential transfer of 24-year-old right-back Rúben Sánchez from Espanyol to PAOK has reportedly stalled following PAOK's elimination from the Conference League by Brann.

According to Spanish media outlet ‘La Grada’, negotiations had reached an advanced stage, with PAOK submitting a proposal of €600,000 plus bonuses. Espanyol was reportedly prepared to accept the offer, and discussions were moving toward finalizing terms with the player and his agent. The interest was bolstered by manager Alecio Lis, who has prior experience with Sánchez at Mirandés.

However, PAOK's failure to secure a place in the Conference League League Phase appears to have frozen the deal. As a result, Sánchez is now expected to remain at Espanyol, though a small window remains open for a potential change in circumstances before the current transfer window closes.
