PAOK Women eliminated from Europa Cup after draw with Spartak Myjava

PAOK Women's football team has been eliminated from the UEFA Women's Europa Cup following a 1-1 draw against Spartak Myjava in Slovakia. This result, combined with their 2-3 loss in the first leg in Thessaloniki, gives Spartak Myjava a 4-3 aggregate victory and secures their place in the Round of 16 for the first time in their history.

In the second leg, Spartak Myjava took an early lead in the 33rd minute through a penalty converted by Nataša Stanojević, following a foul on Semanova. PAOK responded in the 59th minute when Panagiota Argyriou scored to level the match at 1-1. Despite intense pressure from the Greek side in the second half and several late opportunities, including hits to the woodwork by Giannakka and chances for Michael and Gatsanitsa, they were unable to find the decisive second goal.

PAOK players and staff expressed frustration regarding the penalty decision, describing it as a ‘discovery penalty’ that cost them their European campaign. Despite the exit, the team's performance was noted for its dominance in large stretches of the match.
